We rely on the 30+ years of experience and expertise of the IGP Group to manufacture this product. Ring Type Joint Gaskets seal by a wedging action between the Flange and the Gasket surfaces. The different flange and fluids sealed demand we stock four different cross sections of gaskets in three different types of metals. More configurations are available upon request.
Oval Type
This Type is considered a standard cross section. It requires a lower torque load to conform and seal. This is stocked at Norwesco in most sizes and in the four basic metals.
Gasket complies with ASME B16.20
Octagonal Type
This Type of cross section creates a more secure seal than the above. More attention must be taken to dimensions and flaws in sealing surfaces and additional torque load is required to ensure that the gasket conforms.
Gasket complies with ASME B16.20
BX Type
Square in cross section and used in the most extreme pressure applications. Up to 20,000 psi. Gasket can only be used in API 6BX Flanges.
RX Type
The RX type Gasket is dimensionally similar to the octagonal type. The cross section is taller exposing more area of gasket to the fluid pressure securing a more effective seal.
